Earn Your First Aid Merit Badge at the LA Scout Center!
Be prepared for any emergency and take an important step in your Scouting journey by earning the First Aid Merit Badge at the Greater Los Angeles Scout Center in downtown Los Angeles. This hands-on class will teach Scouts essential lifesaving skills, including how to respond to injuries, handle emergencies, and provide basic medical care when it matters most.
Scouts will learn practical techniques, build confidence in emergency situations, and work toward completing one of the most important merit badges for every Scout.

MUST attend both classes to complete the requirements--April 11th and May 9th
Class 1, April 11th, focus:
- 1a. Explain Check, Call , Care
- 1b. Tell how to access EMS from home and remote area
- 1c. Demonstrate standard precautions, PPE and removing gloves
- 1d. Demonstrate airway management and rescue breathing
- 5a. Describe signs and symptoms of choking, show first aid for choking and explain prevention of choking
- 7a. Explain what a heart attack is
- 7b. Describe signs and symptoms of a heart attack
- 7c Describe when to start CPR
- 7d Demonstrate CPR and hands only CPR
- 7e. Explain when to use an AED
- 7f. Demonstrate use of an AED
- 7g. Explain where to place an AED
Class 2, May 9th, focus:

- Bringin 2a,checklist of 2b, requirements which say describe have them written down (3,4,5,6,11)
