HAT - Wilderness Woman Training For Men

Event Details

This course is designed specifically for male Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters serving in troops that welcome female Scouts. Creating a positive, respectful, and supportive environment begins with confident, well-prepared leadership. When adult leaders feel comfortable and confident working with all Scouts, they help foster that same confidence and sense of belonging among the youth they serve.

Throughout this course, we will explore practical approaches to addressing situations that may arise both on and off the trail, effectively leading troops with boys and girls, and maintaining appropriate boundaries in accordance with Scouting America's Youth Protection Training guidelines.

We will also discuss how to model the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law while promoting respect, inclusion, and open communication throughout the troop.

While some of these conversations may address sensitive or unfamiliar topics, they are essential to building strong leadership skills and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and rewarding Scouting experience for every youth.
