Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is the Cub Scout Leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping, overnighter and WEBELOS den overnighters.

It is comprised of two components – an online component and a practical hand – on component.  Both Components must be completed to qualify as a “Trained” Cub Scout outdoor leader.

For the online component, Log into https://my.scouting.org/ and click on the Learn Center.  BALOO is at the bottom under “Expanded Learning”

BALOO Trained Leaders will be able to:

• Explain the focus of the Cub Scout camping program
• Demonstrate the skills necessary to plan and carry out a successful Camping activity
• Describe the resources available to carry out this activity
• Discuss the requirements for a Successful Activity
