STEM Shoot! Award Day at Camp Trask
Please Join Us for a Day of Innovation, Inspiration, and Exploration!
We are pleased to announce the STEM Shoot! Award and Composites Merit Badge Day at Trask Scout Reservation—a full day dedicated to STEM topics:
- Complete the Composite Materials Merit Badge
- Earn the STEM Nova Award, Shoot!
- Celebrate the bright future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in Scouting!
This exciting event will feature hands-on STEM activities and the dedication of the Merwyn C. Gill Composite Materials signage in honor of the visionary M.C. Gill, who established this badge to inspire Scouts to explore composites and support STEM fields and careers in related industries through Scouting.
The highlight of the day will be the scouts designing, constructing, and launching a composite material rocket! Scouts have the opportunity to earn their STEM Shoot! Award by engaging in workshops and activities centered on Composite Materials, Aviation, and Space Technologies.
Highlights Include:
- Dedication Ceremony honoring Merwyn C. Gill’s legacy—Composite Materials in Scouting
- Interactive STEM Award and Composite Material Merit Badge completion
- BBQ lunch
- Scouts and recognized guests will launch rockets made of composite materials
Come celebrate the spirit of discovery and innovation, and help us inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers! The event is expected to fill up quickly so be sure to register as soon as possible! There is a strict limit of 90 Scouts for this event and there will not be a waiting list.
We have a full day, so please arrive on time (15 minutes early) to ensure you can complete the Merit Badge and STEM award requirements.
