HAT - Climbing Level 2 Recert (CWSC)

PURPOSE:
This course is to recertify Level II Climbing Instructors whose training expired within the last six months. Upon completion of this course your training will be certified for another three years. This class is not for Level I Climbing Instructors who wish to become Level II Instructors.

Friday, November 14, 2025 (7:00pm - 10:00pm)
LOCATION:
Cushman Watt Service Center, 2333 Scout Way, Los Angeles, CA 90026
COST:
$20.00 for classroom materials by November 7, 2025. If fewer than six sign ups are made prior to that date a cancellation notice will be sent. Otherwise a confirmation will be sent after that date.
EQUIPMENT:
Materials to take notes.
OVERVIEW:
This course is very intense and will work into the late hours of the night. We will cover Scouting America's current National Policies associated with all climbing/rappelling activities, at the Unit, Council and District levels, as outlined in the pamphlet entitled "Climb on Safely," and the National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP). Textbook is Scouting America's. publication entitled "Belay On" (provided).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current registration with Boy Scouts of America
- 21 years old
- Current Level II Climbing Instructor
- Current successful completion of Scouting America's “Youth Protection Guidelines” training
- Current Scouting America's Annual Health and Medical Record
- Completed the online Climb on Safely Training

Minimum of 6 students.
