Cabrillo Merit Badge Day (Swimming, Lifesaving, Personal Fitness, Citizenships & Communication)

Morning Classes 9:00am to 12:00pm
Lifesaving merit Badges (10 Scouts per class)
- Must have earned the swimming merit badge
- Read all requirements
- Swim front crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, elementary backstroke
- know first aid related to swimming
- Dress to swim bring blue card
Personal Fitness Merit Badge (10 Scouts in class) (90 day class)
- Read all requirements
- Show proof of physical examination using the Scout medical form
- Proof of dental examination
- Dress to exercise/running shoes
Citizenship in Community (12 Scouts for class)
- Read all requirements
- Complete requirements 3,4,5,7, and 8
Afternoon Classes 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Communication Merit Badge (10 Scouts for class)
- Class A uniform
- Bring signed blue card
- Read all requirements
- Be prepared with requirements 2,3,5,6,7,8,and 9.
- You will be presenting these speeches in class
Citizenship in the Nation (12 Scouts per class)
- Wear class A uniform
- Bring signed blue card
- Be prepared with requirements 5,6,7, and 8
Additional Swimming Merit Badge (10 Scouts, 1:00pm - 4:00pm)
- Read all requirements
- Dress to swim
- Must pass the BSA swim test to continue
- Bring a signed blue card
- Know the rules of safe swim defense
- Know the prevention and treatment of health concerns occurred during swimming
- Be able to explain the health benefits of a regular aerobic exercise and discuss why swimming is favored as both fitness and therapeutic
