Monster Mountain at Camp Terror-quitz
Monster Mountain at Camp Terror-quitz
An Immersive Haunted Camping Experience in the San Bernardino Mountains
Something wicked stirs at 6,400 feet.
When the sun drops behind the pines and the mountain air turns cold, Camp Tahquitz becomes something else entirely. The trails go dark. The forest closes in. And the legends of the mountain come alive.
Monster Mountain at Camp Terror-quitz is a one-of-a-kind immersive haunted camping event built from the ground up for Scouts BSA Patrols, Venturing Crews, and Sea Scout Ships. This isn't a badge factory with a Halloween theme tacked on, this is a full-throttle, experience-driven event designed to deliver thrills, chills, and memories that will outlast any patch.
Think Knott's Scary Farm or Queen Mary's Dark Harbor meets the backcountry, but the fog is real, the woods are deep, and you're spending the night...
Choose Your Fear
Not every Scout wants the same scare. Monster Mountain features three haunt tiers so every participant can dial in the experience that's right for them:
Spooky
Eerie atmospheres. Creepy theming. Jump-scare free. Perfect for younger Scouts or anyone who wants to soak in the Halloween spirit without the terror. Expect fog-filled trails, spooky storytelling, themed environments, and just enough tension to keep you looking over your shoulder.
Scary
Startles, tension, and actors who get close. The intensity goes up. Live scare actors, disorienting sets, and encounters designed to get your heart pounding. You'll make it through, but you might grab your buddy's arm on the way.
Skeletons
Unrelenting fear. No mercy. No escape. This is the tier for those who want to be hunted. Immersive, aggressive, and relentless. Actors will get in your face, surround your group, cut off your path, and push the intensity to the limit. Inspired by extreme haunts, this tier is not for the faint of heart. You asked for it.
