Your Pacific Skyline Council has partnered with the great people over at Microsoft to offer some AMAZING programs for your CUB SCOUTS to enjoy while Sheltering in Place. Smithsonian Museum of Natural History's Hall of Fossils Tour (Ages 8+)

**FULL** Mon, June 1st , 2020 at 3:30pm and 5:30pm

Travel millions of years to the past without leaving your home.

In this workshop, Cub Scouts ages 8+ (Must be Bear or above) are transported to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History right from their web browser using 360-degree interactive imagery.

By the end of the workshop students will:

• Explore the Smithsonian's famous "Hall of Fossils" in 360-degrees virtually
• Learn about natural history in the Jurassic age
• Complete a fun virtual discovery hunt throughout the museum

**FULL** Minecraft Hour of Code (Ages 6+)

Tue, May 26, 2020 at 3:30pm and a 5:30pm

Join us for this, ninety-minute workshop to have fun learning and being inspired by computer science and AI. Using the power of code and AI, Cub Scouts ages 6 and older (Must be Tiger or above) will program the Agent to prevent forest fires and regrow a forest.

Student will learn to:

• Understand basic AI concepts
• Instruct a computer to perform fundamental coding tasks
• Experience how AI is being used in the real-world to promote conservation and sustainability

**FULL** Code Your Own Video Game with MakeCode Arcade (Ages 8+)

 Thu, May 28, 2020 at 3:30pm and a 5:30pm

In this workshop, Cub Scouts ages 8+ (must be Bear or above), who we will call game developers, will use block coding to create games with MakeCode Arcade.

Participants will:

• Learn about the game design concept of sprites
• Learn about the computer science concepts of coordinates and variables
• Complete coding tutorial, Eat the Doughnut to build games introducing them to the fundamentals of MakeCode Arcade.
