A Spring Shooting Sports Day!

Our Shooting Sports Committee is hosting a day packed with shooting sports activities for troops that didn’t get to participate in the fall. Units can organize a camping weekend and join us for the activities on Saturday.
 

What

  • Shooting Sports Day
  • Activities: Archery, Tomahawks, Slingshot, Air Rifle, .22LR Rifle, Muzzleloading Rifle, and Shotgun

When

  • Saturday, March 26, 7am-6pm
  • MANDATORY safety briefing starts at 8:00am; if you are not there on time, you cannot shoot!

Cost

  • $100/Youth (limited to 84)
  • $40/Adult (can shoot but priority goes to youth)

Where

Who

  • Scouts BSA and Venturers – limited to 84 youth.
  • Each unit can only sign up 8 youth initially, open to all starting 2/28.
  • If your unit participated in the August 2021 Shooting Sports Day, please do not sign up until 2/28/22.
  • Participation at each station may depend on strength and is at the discretion of the instructors.

Details

  • Registration opens Mon, Feb 14, 2022 at 9:00am.
  • Sign-ups are by “contingent” only (as a troop/crew, NO individual sign-ups).
  • Only units within Pacific Skyline Council can sign up before Mon, Feb 28, 2022, when registration opens to all.
  • Eye and ear protection will be provided and must be worn at all ranges.
  • Bring your own lunch and water.
  • Adults can shoot, time permitting; youth have priority.
  • All participants must bring 2 signed copies of the Shooting Sports Authorization Form

Camping

  • Units are encouraged to camp overnight at BCSR the night before (and Saturday, too, if you want). Please contact Adela Wright at adela.wright@scouting.org to reserve a campsite.
  • All campsite reservations will be made through the council office on a first come, first served basis.
  • Please provide your unit number; contact name, email address and phone number; camping dates, number of youth and number of adults; 3 campsite requests in order of preference or state "no preference."
  • The camping fee is $8 per person per night; however, some campsites do have a minimum fee (varies by campsite).
  • Units must pay the camping reservation fee online prior to arrival at camp.
