STEM Merit Badge Midway
A 1-day event for Scouts to earn STEM-related merit badges

Registration opens October 16, 2023 at 9:00am and closes November 10, 2023 at 4:00pm Pacific time.
Registration is restricted to only Pacific Skyline Scouts.
A Scout’s BSA ID number will be required for registration for the STEM Midway. This is different from the ScoutBook User ID number. Please make sure you have that number before registration opens for the STEM Midway. It can be found on Scoutbook in the Personal Profile or your unit leaders can give it to you. Be Prepared ahead of time – classes fill up fast!
Merit Badges to Be Offered:
Architecture, Astronomy, Chemistry, Digital Technology, Energy, Engineering, Fingerprinting, Nuclear Science, Programming, Radio, Reptile and Amphibian Study, Signs, Signals and Codes.
Class size is limited, so Scouts should consider alternative choices prior to signing up.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisites can be found in the Class Catalog linked on this page. Scouts are expected to obtain and read the Merit Badge Pamphlet. Merit Badge worksheets are highly recommended for the Midway but not required. They make recording the prerequisites easier for the Scout as well as the counselor, but you may use a regular word-type document or equivalent to explain your prerequisites.
Complete prerequisite descriptions will be emailed to participants by their Merit Badge Counselors once registration closes and rosters are finalized.
Pricing:
$55 (includes up to two merit badge classes)
Times:
A.M. classes: 8:30am - approx. 11:30am.
P.M. classes: 12:30pm - approx. 3:30pm.
Scouts should wear their Class A uniform.
Location:
In Person at Ralston Middle School - 2675 Ralston Ave, Belmont, CA 94002
NOTE: Lunch will NOT be provided; each Scout should bring a personal sack lunch to the event. There will not be time between classes for lunch to be brought by a parent.
Blue Cards: We encourage using Scoutbook for this event. Your counselor will add him or herself as your counselor through Scoutbook to check off requirements. Please make sure you or your leaders have added this badge or badges to your personal list of merit badges as soon as you are registered for the Midway. A Blue Card will be a back-up resort if there is an issue with setting up Scoutbook.
Scouts, if you email a counselor with questions or asking for clarification on something, to be in accordance with BSA and Pacific Skyline Council policy you MUST CC another adult, like your Scoutmaster or a parent/guardian.
