Registration Details

We are using a lottery system again this year. Please read carefully through the process, but at least there is no having to stress about clicking the registration button exactly when it opens (and you’re trying to get to work) and typing fast to get your unit registered!

Important dates:

  • 2/23 - Lottery (waiting list) registration opens Monday at 9AM
    • NOTE: Entering the lottery is a commitment to pay for any spots awarded
  • 2/27 - Lottery registration closes Friday at 5PM
  • 3/1 - Lottery results announced Sunday
  • 3/2 - Registrations will be moved from the lottery waitlist on Monday
    • Automated emails will be sent notifying the Registration Contact
    • NOTE: Units MUST pay for ALL spots awarded from the lottery
  • 3/9 - Registration Payments Due (any unpaid spots will be released back to the lottery pool)
  • 4/1 - Last date for cancelling or returning any spots for a partial refund
  • 5/1-5/3 - Shooting Sports Weekend

Definitions:
Unit = Troop, Crew, or Ship (Boys Troop = 1 unit, Girls Troop = 1 unit, Family Troop = 1 unit, Crew = 1 unit)
Contingent = Group of Scouts + Adults from a single unit (i.e. Boy Troop 103 OR Girl Troop 4103)
Linked Troops = Separate Boy Troop and Girl Troop from the same chartered org. (i.e. Boys Troop 37 + Girls Troop 4201)
Family Troop = A single unit with both boys and girls, officially registered as a Family Troop with Scouting America
Registration Contact = Single point of contact for a unit
In-Council = Units in Pacific Skyline Council
Out-of-Council = Units from other councils (i.e. SVMBC, GGAC, etc.)

Registration Rules:

  • Registration is by unit only (as a troop/crew, NO individual sign-ups).
  • Only units within Pacific Skyline Council can sign up for the lottery.
  • Out-of-Council units may register and will be placed on the waitlist in order after in-council units.
  • Units may register for up to 10 youth.
    • Because SSW has a smaller number of spots available for each unit, consider offering the event first to your older youth.
  • Each unit is expected also to register at least enough adults to satisfy YPT for itself, which means at least two adults age 21 years or older, including at least one female leader if female youth are attending from that unit.
    • All adults must be registered with their unit in the position they are serving and have current YPT/SYT and AB506.
    • No sharing adults with other units, even Linked Troops.
    • More adults may be added to the registration later.
  • All registrations will immediately be placed on the waitlist -- this is your unit's lottery entry.
  • For units that win the lottery, the Council will send an automated email notifying the Registration Contact on Monday, March 2.
    • Payment must be made to the Council by Monday, March 9, or the spots will be given to the next unit in the lottery.
    • Units that do not win the lottery will remain on the waitlist.
    • Registration is capped at 10 youth per unit until there are no more units on the waiting list.
  • Know how many of your Scouts will go before you register! Your unit must pay for the slots it requests in the lottery.
    • Cancellation of any spots prior to 30 days before the event (up to Wednesday, April 1) will incur a 15% penalty.
    • Cancellation of any spots less than 30 days before the event (April 2 or later) will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Linked Troops
    • There is no guarantee that Linked Troop will both be selected by the lottery system (Girl Troop 4103 may get in while Boy Toop 103 may not).
  • NO trading spots among units!
    • Units MUST contact the Council to return any unused spots (cancellation penalty applies).
    • No trading between linked Boy and Girl Troops or Crews.
    • Council will contact the next unit on the waiting list (in order) and offer any available spots.
    • Event organizers should not be contacted and will not handle any trades/cancellations/refunds.

Event Details

  • Eye and ear protection will be provided and must be worn at all ranges
  • Adults can shoot, time permitting; youth have priority
  • All participants must bring 2 signed copies of the Shooting Sports Authorization Form (linked in the Attachments section of this page)
  • Units will provide their own food and cook their own meals in their camp
  • There will be an all-camp Ice Cream Social on Saturday evening!
