Cub Scout Pocketknife Safety Class

Event Details

Cub Scouts can join our Pocketknife Safety Class.

A sharp pocketknife is an invaluable tool. Learn how to choose a pocketknife and proper knife safety, including how to safely open and close a pocketknife, the proper technique for handing off a knife, and more.

Bears, Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts will have the opportunity to earn their Whittling Chip and make a carved soap project. Carving soap will be provided. Scouts who earn the Whittling Chip at the event will receive their Whittling Chip patch and pocket card at the end of the event.

We will start promptly at 1:00 PM. This is not a drop-in session.

Parents must attend with their scout and help their scout as needed. You must select a Cub Scout Adult registration when you register your scout for this event.

Scouts may bring a pocketknife to the class or purchase one at the Scout Shop during class at the designated time.

BSA's Age Appropriate Guidelines for Scouting Activities prohibit Lions, Tigers, and Wolves from using pocketknives.
