After registration: It is important that you add the merit badges for which you are registered to your list of merit badges on your Advancement Page in ScoutBook.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites can be found in the Class Catalog linked on this page. Full descriptions of the prerequisites will be emailed to class participants after registration closes. Scouts are expected to obtain and read the Merit Badge Pamphlet. Most troops have a Merit Badge Book library. You may be able to check the merit badge books out from your troop. Public libraries also often have many of these books. Merit Badge worksheets are highly recommended for the midway but not required. They make recording the prerequisites easier for the Scout as well as the counselor, but you may use a regular word document or equivalent to explain your prerequisites.
All Merit Badges include the following prerequisites:
- Obtain the Merit Badge Book for this class and read it.
- Add this Merit Badge to your MB list on your personal Advancement page in ScoutBook as soon as you are registered for the Midway, and invite your counselor to be your counselor for this badge.
- The Merit Badge worksheet, though not required, is a good tool to help you manage your prerequisites. We would like you to use it. A link can be found under the Class Catalog link.
