Learn valuable handyman skills to use around the house!

In this intensive three-day program, you will learn:

Electrical: Replace a duplex outlet · Replace a switch · Replace a cord plug · Replace a light socket

Plumbing: Replace a faucet washer · Cut and thread a pipe · Sweat a copper pipe · Unclog a drain three different ways

Painting: Repair drywall · Prepare and paint a wall · Paint/varnish/stripping · Paint/stain/varnish

Miscellaneous: Hang a picture · Install wall anchors · Stretch window screens · Caulk a shower

This program is for Scouts BSA and Venturing youth and adults.

Due to the hands-on nature of the training, the Home Repairs Specialty Camp is limited to the first 64 Scouts and 12 adults who sign up. A wait-list will be maintained in case of cancellations.

Adults attending will be asked to help provide supervision in the campsites as well as volunteer for shifts in the kitchen, but will be permitted to participate in classes and will receive all of the same materials as the participating Scouts. Adults must have current BSA Youth Protection Training.

No merit badges will be completed as at this program, but Scouts will receive partial completion of the Electricity, Plumbing, Painting, and Home Repairs Merit Badges.
