High Adventure Training (HAT)

Event Details

For those who intend on taking Scouts more than a few miles from the trail-head, boat launch, or on other High Adventure Activities. This course has an emphasis on keeping Scouts safe on these activities through planning, first aid, equipment, and outdoor knowledge.

The course will consist of 2 weekday evening sessions, 1 Saturday session, and a weekend backpacking trip. Participants must attend all 4 sessions to complete the course.

  • 2 Classroom Sessions: 3/10/26 and 3/24/26 - 6:30-9:30 PM                           
  • Saturday 3/21/26 8:00 AM-4:00 PM                                                                  
  • Backpacking 4/10/26-4/11/26

PREREQUISITE: Adult leaders must have taken IOLS prior to attending this course.

SUBJECTS COVERED: Backpacking, paddling, mountain biking, climbing, trip planning, first aid, nutrition, Leave no Trace, environmental hazards, navigation, and more...

COST: $125 per participant
