High Adventure Training (HAT)

For anyone who intends to take Scouts on outings more than a few miles from the trail-head. Emphasis is on safety, first aid, and program planning. Course consists of 3 classroom sessions and a weekend field experience. Must complete all 4 sessions.

· Vital for Leaders of Wilderness Trips one or more days from the trailhead – e.g. 50 miler, Philmont
· Valuable for all Scouters participating in outdoor programs.
· Youth Leaders are welcome
WHAT?
· A council-developed course designed to teach Scout Leaders to safely lead outdoor adventures.
· Taught by experienced Scout Leaders and outside experts with specific expertise in their subjects
· Hands on training, formal presentations, and exciting patrol field exercises to test your skills.
