The Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in communities across the US. Honoring distinguished citizenship delivers a message to our youth that character counts. The lives of distinguished citizens put into place guideposts that serve to inspire our youth to lead, to accept responsibility, and to care about principles and causes beyond self-interest.  

Honoring Justin Knowles – Cub Master of Pack 58 and Vice President of Product Management & Strategy at Oracle’s Advanced Customer Services.  Justin was chosen as the 2022 honoree for his strong ties to the Scouting program as a youth and as an adult with his boys in Pack 58.  He also as sits on many community boards as a volunteer.

We will also be presenting James Pooley, President of Pacific Skyline Council, and nationally recognized intellectual property attorney, with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.

Proceeds from this event will directly help the ScoutReach program. The Pacific Skyline Council, Boy Scouts of America serves all the communities from Daly City and South San Francisco in the north, to Los Altos and Mountain View in the south, to the coast on the west.

We want ALL youth, regardless of economic circumstance to have an enriching and lifechanging Scouting experience! The ScoutReach program provides funding to support Scout units including hiring staff to serve as leaders, and subsidizing registration fees, uniforms, manuals, field trips and camp outings. During the height of COVID we lost the ability to serve nearly all our ScoutReach youth. We are now in the rebuilding process of the program for the youth of East Palo Alto, Mountain View, Redwood City, East Menlo Park, Daly City and Half Moon Bay.
