As you may know, 2020 was been a challenging year for Scouting and the Pacific Skyline Council. The global pandemic caused us to have to cancel nearly all our camp programs cutting off a significant revenue source for the council and our camps that we depend on every year. Now, with the California fire season under way, we have unfortunately suffered significant damage to council camp properties.
We know that in the wake of the CZU Lightning Complex Fires and now the Creek Fire, many in our Scouting community are anxious to give of their time, talent, and treasure, to help with the recovery effort for PacSky camps. While we do not know the full extent of the losses and it will be some time before we can get volunteers actively involved at all of our properties, we have established this online fundraising campaign.
Contributions made through this portal will go to the Pacific Skyline Council's capital fund used for camp improvements and repairs. This is the only official online fundraising platform of the Pacific Skyline Council to benefit our camps.
