There is uncertainty in all aspects of our lives these days, especially the Scouting part:

• How are you going to keep your Scouts active and advancing?
• How will you recruit new Scouts if there’s no program happening in your den?
• How do you overcome supply shortages for the materials you need to complete advancement requirements?

We want to make your life a little easier and keep your Cub Scouts earning Adventures and moving ahead through the program. To do this, we’re offering what we call "Cub Scout Adventure Boxes" – a monthly curated collection of instructions and materials. 
 

Cub Scout Adventure Boxes - What Are They?

• Rank-specific curated program.
• One Box per month personalized to your Cub Scout's Rank -- Tigers through Webelos.
• 10 Monthly installments: Designed for each month's (September to June)  program and focuses on instructions and materials for work toward required Cub Scout Rank Adventures.

NOTE: If you order later in the program, price does not change but you will recieve all the Cub Scout Adventure Programs you missed earlier in the year. (Example: If you ordered your 10-month subscription of the Cub Scout Adventure Box in December, you will recieve all box materials for all the packets between September and December right away).  

These monthly Boxes can be picked up at either the Foster City or Palo Alto Scout shops during any regular business hours. We will notify all subscribers each month when the boxes are ready to be picked up.
 

Where can we use the Cub Scout Adventure Box to get activities completed?

• At organized den meetings
• At home as part of a virtual den meeting
• At home as an individual or family activity
• A combination of attending meetings and completing activities at home for missed meetings

NOTE: If activities are completed as an individual or family activity, you’ll need to report what you’ve accomplished to your Scout’s Den Leader or Cubmaster in order to earn the advancement.
 

What is inside a Cub Scout Adventure Box?

• Adventure workbooks listing activities and including directions and materials you need from home.
• All supplies and materials to complete craft activities that aren’t commonly available at home.
• Pages in the workbook to organize and show your work.
   

What is NOT inside an Cub Scout Adventure Box?

1. A few electives require swimming or camping; you’ll need to complete these with your own resources.
2. Tools and supplies that most families have at home, such as:

• Glue and tape
• Crayons, markers, colored pencils, pens, pencils
• Basic tools for woodworking projects (hammer, saw, screwdriver)
• Perishable goods needed to complete cooking requirements
   

What are the advantages of ordering/using a Cub Scout Adventure Box Subscription?

• Reduces the planning time for Den Leaders and/or families
• Eliminates shopping for supplies
• Easy for Scouts who can’t attend a meeting to complete the activities as they are able
• Advancement and fun activities can continue if Den Leader or Scouts become sick or quarantined
• Scouts joining later in the year can catch up on missed activities
• Scouts with short attention spans can complete activities at their own pace outside of your meetings
• Highly motivated Scouts have opportunity to complete adventures not included in your meetings
   

Cost

$200 for 10 months of program-

• For one subscription for one Cub Scout that's only $20 per box. 
• Order a set for all your den's Cub Scouts!
• Cost comes to approximately $10 worth of supplies and program materials per meeting.
• Cost is about the same as you’d spend or charge in dues to purchase supplies yourself.

NOTE: Depending on the type of materials each month, they may not be packed in a box but maybe packed in large envelopes or similar.
 

Who should order?

Anyone who is interested in utilizing this program should order. A den leader or cubmaster may order for their whole den or pack OR a family may order for their individual Scout.
