NRA Chief Range Safety Officer Training

Goal: To develop NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to train and supervise NRA Range Safety Officers and to provide the essential information required to develop Range Standard Operating Procedures.

IMPORTANT: You must sign up for Basic Instructor Training (BIT) on Saturday in Palo Alto if you have NOT had BIT or another instructor class within the past 2 years. If you have had BIT within the past two years, then you only need the CRSO training session on Sunday at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation.

Prerequisite: Prior shooting experience, experience loading & unloading revolvers, pistols, rifles, and shotguns of all action types.

Covers: Roles and responsibilities of an RSO, Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Range inspection, Range rules, Range briefings, Emergency procedures, Firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

Allows: One to train and certify NRA Range Safety Officers and develop Range SOP’s.
