BALOO & IOLS - Adult Leader Skills

BALOO course description
Adults work together as Dens. This hands-on course provides adult leaders with practical outdoor skills for leading and teaching Cub Scouts in the out-of-doors. BALOO training is required for any Cub Scout Leader or registered parent volunteer to conduct Webelos/AOL, Den or Pack outdoor events, camping overnighters. Both the on-line and practical hands-on components must be completed ot qualify as a "Trained" Cub Scout outdoor leader. Must attend overnight to complete course.

A BALOO-trained registered volunteer is required to be on-site for all Packs during outdoor events and/or overnight campouts with Dens or Packs.
IOLS course description
Adults work together as patrols. This hands-on course provides adult leaders with practical outdoors skills for leading and teaching Scouts in the out-of-doors and teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain First Class rank. Must attend overnight to complete course.
Who should attend
- Scoutmasters/Assistant Scoutmaster (required)
- Adult volunteers
PRE-REQUISITES
(must be completed BEFORE the course is taken)
- Registered Adult (participants & staff) or Scouts BSA (staff only)
- Current Youth Protection Training (Ages 18+)
- Present a completed "Annual Medical & Health Record" - Parts A & B medical form to check-in.
- BALOO - BALOO Introduction (My.Scouting.org) - recommended for staff
- IOLS - Weather Hazards Training (My.Scouting.org)
- Wear/Bring: Field Uniform shirt & Pack/Troop T-shirt
