Briones Cub Adventure Quest: Spook 'o Ree

Briones Cub Adventure Quest:
Spook ’o Ree
November 1 – November 2, 2025
With Optional Overnight Camping
Calling all Cub Scouts of Briones District! The ghosts and goblins of Camp Herms are stirring once again… it’s time for a frightfully fun weekend of games, crafts, and haunted adventures at the Briones Spook ’o Ree!
Make sure to read and bookmark the Parent’s Guide for the latest updates as we prepare for the event. The guide includes important information about forms, schedules, and what to bring.
Event Overview
Camp Herms will be crawling with creepy creatures, spooky challenges, and haunted happenings! Your Cub Scout will get to explore the camp, test their bravery, and discover all sorts of Halloween magic.
Here’s what our little monsters can look forward to:
- Mad Scientist Lab – Mix up potions and experiment with weird, wacky science
- Zombie & Pumpkin Tag Games – Can you survive Halloween Tag, outrun the Zombies, and win Pumpkin Tag?
- Bat-Wing Rockets – Build and launch your own spooky flying contraptions
- Haunted Archery Range – Take aim like a ghostly archer
- History of Archery & Halloween Bead Creatures – Learn how bows were used in the past, then create your own spooky ghosts, bats, and pumpkins out of colorful beads to take home
- Phantom BB Gun Range – Practice your aim on our phantom range
- History of BB Guns & Popper Ghost Craft – Find out where BB guns came from, then create your own popper ghost
- Capture the Pumpkin: Haunted Edition – Sneak past other ghouls to capture the pumpkin
- Spooky Slingshots – Try your hand at slinging some spooky ammo
- Meet the EMTs – Explore a real ambulance and learn how first responders save lives, even on Halloween night!
The registration fee covers all materials, crafts, and light “ghoulish goodies” (snacks) to keep Cub Scouts fueled for fun.
Per Council guidelines, siblings and other unregistered youth are welcome to join the fun at activity stations — but only registered Cub Scouts may participate in archery and BB gun shooting.

Next Steps
Wooo! You're almost set for a spooktacularly fun time at Spook O'Ree. Please do the following at your earliest convenience:
1. Read the Spook O'Ree parent guide.
2. Fill out the forms listed in the guide. Cub Scouts need both a Health AB Form and a Shooting Sports permission slip filled out. Parents & siblings attending need a Health AB form filled out. There are links to both forms in the parent guide.
3. Turn in the forms to your Pack's Spook O'Ree point person by Friday, October 24th.
Your Pack's point person is responsible for updating the Spook O'Ree spreadsheet by Friday, October 24th to confirm they have copies of everyone's Health AB forms, and which shooting sports each Cub Scout has received permission to participate in. The point person will assign one adult to bring all of the Pack's printed forms to the check in table at Spook O'Ree when you arrive. Cub Scouts may only participate if these two forms have been filled out and are presented at check in.
