Shotgun Merit Badge Day

Details:

Class size: 10 Scouts maximum.

Scout Requirements:

• Sufficient upper body strength to hold a 6.4lb shotgun up for extended periods
• At least 13 years of age at the time of the event.

Pre-work to complete prior to arriving for the course:

Purchase and read the Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge Pamphlet from the MDSC Scout Shop in Pleasant Hill.
Download and complete the Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge Workbook.

What to bring:

Completed Shooting Permission Form for Older Scouts.
Merit badge blue card obtained from your Troop’s Advancement Coordinator or Scoutmaster.
Lunch, water bottle, snack and sunscreen.  A jacket may be needed on windy or cool days.

Equipment that will be provided:

Eye and hearing protection.  You may bring your own if you prefer.
Shotgun & ammunition.  DO NOT bring your own shotgun or any ammunition.
