MDSC iBadge 2020
Online Merit Badge Classes are offered for your Scouts!
In Spring 2020 your Mt. Diablo Silverado Council volunteer Merit badge Counselors are offing Merit Badge classes for you, our Scouts!
These sessions are open to all Scouts across the country not just here in MDSC.
Here's How it works:
Select your Merit Badge and register. Once registered,your Scoutmaster will receive an e-mail asking for approval for the Scout to take the badge. The Scoutmaster then has until 36 hours before the badge to reply if they do not approve the Scout. The Scout will receive a link for the digital Zoom Classroom 24-36 hours before the first session. Depending on your badge and counselor, you may have "homework" between sessions. Not every badge will be completed during these sessions as some have long term requirements that need to be completed over 90 days. Our Merit Badge Counselors are creative and will do whatever they can to help you continue your Scouting Advancement!
All Blue Cards will be approved digitally and you can print them at home.

1. Do not misbehave. Remember, the teacher has the authority to ask you to leave the classroom if you misbehave. What constitutes misbehavior? Cyber bullying, being disruptive, not respecting others including your peers, and chatting inappropriately are all intolerable.
2. Be mindful and thoughtful. Your online actions are permanent and we can trace you! “Zoom-chats are only for discussing material being taught. Remember, if you've published something in the chat window or online it, it's traceable. When you post things online, you're creating your cyber-fingerprint. Everything is traceable. It doesn't matter whether or not you delete the message or text. It is permanent and we can trace you!”
3. Anything short of learning the subject and being mindful of your actions will be unacceptable. Online classes are a privilege. There are several folks spending countless hours to bring these classes to your desk. Please respect these resources.
4. Do not be disruptive. Mute your microphone when you are not speaking.
5. When connecting using Zoom, please use a plain background! No virtual backgrounds.
6. Use your camera so that we can see you.
7. Renew your Cyberchip, but more importantly, practice what you have learned.
