Scouting for Food Kickoff Party

Getting Scouting for Food kicked off in style! For the first time, we'll hold a KICKOFF PARTY at the San Francisco/Marin Food Bank (900 Pennsylvania Ave, San Francisco, CA 94107). The Kickoff Party is co-hosted by the Golden Gate District and the SF/Marin Food Bank Community Outreach Team. We hope that you'll head over to the Kickoff Party as soon as Sunday Streets ends!
At this party:
- Scouts will get a tour of the brand new food warehouse and processing facilitiy. There are even robots to see!
- Scouts and scouters will hear about the impact of the food collection that we do during Scouting for Food
- We'll get to eat! From fresh fruit to staples, we'll get to sample some of the food that the food bank distributes
- We'll hand out the door hangers to the scout leaders to use on Nov 4
Logistics:
- October 15: the event runs from 4pm to 6pm; feel free to arrive/attend any time 4pm-5:30pm. Last tour will start around 5:30pm and tours last about 30 minutes.
- Parking is free on the streets around the Food Bank building
- Scouts and leaders are invited to attend in Class A uniforms
- Tour groups will be ~20 people per tour and the tour takes about 30 minutes. The tour covers the new facility and the food bank personnel will also be discussing the impact of food drives during the tour.
Cost:
There is no cost to attend. The Food Bank always welcomes donations, which can be made here.
Registration:
Use the Register button to register BY UNIT. On the next screen, under General Registration, select the number of units you are registering. For instance, if you are registering a Boy Troop and a Girl Troop, select "2". Otherwise, select "1". Submit one registration on behalf of each of your Troop/Pack/Ship/Posts that will attend. For each unit, we just need a rough headcount to plan the event -- doesn't need to be precise and you come back and modify the headcount up until 10/11/23.
