Come Join the Sea Scouts and Maritime Explorer Club in the SF Aquatic Park!

Back for our third year! Each year, the Sea Scouts and Maritime Explorer Club hold an open house day where Cub Scouts (+friends and siblings!) can come check out the Sea Scout Base and take a boat ride around Aquatic Park. Adults can ride in the boat, or, if they'd like, they can take out one of the available BSA kayaks (or they can stay on dry land!).

Activity:

• Kayaks for adults: Any adult can take out a 1-person kayak. Be sure to pick "Kayak" as the registration type. Adults should be swimmers and comfortable in the water.
• Outrigger Canoe: Any youth (scout, sibling or friend!) can join a cruise on the Outrigger Canoe (no swimming skill required). Parents can ride in the outrigger canoe as well, subject to space availability.
• All scouts and adults will wear PFDs (Personal Floatation Devices), which will be provided by the Sea Scouts, whenever they are on the water. There will be no exceptions, as this part of our Safety Afloat rules.

What to bring:

• Cub Scout Essential 6
• Blanket or chair to sit on the grass and enjoy a beautiful day!

Parking along the final few blocks of Van Ness Ave and the final block of Beach St is free.
The nearest commercial lot is at Ghirardelli Square (entrance is at 890 Beach St).

Nearby transit options include the SF MUNI 49, 19 and 30 busses (within 2 blocks). The 22, 43, Hyde Street cable car and F street car lines are all within 8 blocks. All SF-bound Golden Gate Transit routes stop within 8 blocks of the Sea Scout base.
