Come to our first Golden Gate District Bike Rodeo! We are excited to partner with the San Francisco Bike Coalition, the California Highway Patrol and Sports Basement for this event. At this event scouts will:

1. Learn important bike safety lessons - including how to navigate traffic, use hand signals and ride safely on San Francisco's streets and bikeways.
2. Have their bike and helmet inspected - mechanics will be on-hand to help scouts adjust their helmets to a proper fit, and inspect their bikes for any safety concerns.
3. Go for a short bike ride - we'll take the scouts (and family members!) on a short bike ride around Crissy Field, using the protected bikelanes and shared paths. 
4. Be awarded a special Golden Gate District Bike Rodeo Activity Patch to wear on their uniform. 

If you want to get your scout more comfortable with biking in a group, this is the perfect event!

Important information:

• The program offered at all three sessions (9:30-11am, 11:30am-1pm and 1:30pm-3pm) is exactly the same
• A parent or other responsible adult must accompany their registered scout(s) at all times, except for the short bike ride portion. Family members are welcome for the bike ride portion but are not required to accompany their scout.
• Please park your vehicle in the Presidio (bring money or a credit card for the Presidio parking fee). Please do NOT park in the Sports Basement parking lot as this needs to be kept available for Sports Basement customers. You are encouraged to ride your bike to/from the event!

What does the $13 cover?

The cost for this event will pay for: 1) the permits and fees we must pay to the Presidio Trust, and the National Park Service, in order to use these portions of the Presidio and 2) purchasing the custom-designed activity patch for all attendees and youth volunteers. The services of the law enforcement agencies, the San Francisco Bike Coalition and the use of the Sports Basement location were all kindly donated at no cost.

We have worked hard to make this event affordable for all scout families, but if the cost of this event would create a financial hardship, please contact our District Executive, Morgan Fjord, and we will find a way to ensure your scout is included in the event.
