Wente - Family Vacation Camp

Event Details

Family Vacation Camp at Wente Scout Reservation offers fun and exciting activities for people of all ages. Archery and BB gun are great for everybody. The rifle, and shotgun ranges offer a rousing challenge for older campers. Remember  to stop by the craft area where you can make something that will always remind you of the good times you had at Family Vacation Camp. And don't forget about all our activitites at the lake!

The trading post will offer ice cream, candy, and snacks. There are a variety of items in our trading post including Wente merchandise.

Like most national, state, or private campgrounds, you will be sleeping in tents. Families are encouraged to use the canvas camp tents. There are limited sites for bringing your own tents. ALL sites are assigned when you arrive at camp. Large groups of 50 or more wishing to camp together can be assigned a site in advance otherwise all accommodations are first come, first served upon arrival at camp. Hot showers and restrooms are nearby each of the campsites.

A great choice of two Food Plans are available.   First - - Bring your own food to cook/prepare in your campsite. All food should be stored securely at night.  Second - - eat like the Scouts at summer camp enjoying prepared meals in the Dining Hall.  Varied and nutritious meals are available for a very reasonable fee.  The Meal Plan begins with Saturday breakfast and ends with Sunday dinner.

Friday Pizza Dinner and/or Monday Continental Breakfast are available for separate purchase regardless of Meal Plan choice.

Saturday join us a traditional CAMPFIRE...sign-up at camp if you'd like to perform a skit or lead a song.

Sunday evening there is an ICE CREAM SOCIAL - a tradition of many years at Family Camp – Everyone in camp is welcome to attend.

Registration closes at 11 a.m. on Aug 30 or when camp is filled.

COVID Protocol

Our COVID Protocols have changed:

Pre-Camp Procedures

1. Each Camper (Youth and Adult) is required to complete the Personal Health Screening Survey (Click here)

2. Every Camper and Driver must have a temperature below 100.4 °F just prior to departure for camp.

3.  Each participant, youth and adult, must have their own med forms. These can be found here

4. The CDC and CDPH both recommend vaccinations for scout age youth and adults. The council recommends that all families consult with the family health care providers. There is currently no council or national policy requiring vaccinations.

5. MASKING:

Outdoors: Masking is not required outdoors.

Indoors:  Face masks are not required in most indoor settings.

Masks are required on public transportation, health care settings, emergency shelters and cooling and heating centers, homeless shelters, and long-term care settings and adult and senior care facilities. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) strongly recommends masking in some indoor settings.

Note:  Those individuals wishing to wear are face coverings are free to do so per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and CDPH guidelines. N95 and KN95 filter face masks appear to offer the best protection to the wearer. (For face masks to work properly, they should be worn with no facial hair between the skin and the seal of the masks.)
