OA - WCA 2025 STAFF Registration
OA WCA Staff Registration
January 11, 2025
USS Hornet
Winter Camp Awareness (WCA) is a fantastic and informational training session offered on the USS Hornet in Alameda. It is hosted and taught by members of the Order of the Arrow (OA). The aim of this event is to teach how to camp safely in cold and frigid conditions while having the most fun.
There will be 7 topics, meaning we need volunteers to present. Each village will be running one of the stations, and will require a few presenters to present, aid, and teach the troops! Additionally, we need Troop Guides. Troop Guides will lead the troops through the Hornet on designated routes so units won’t get lost. The registration crew will be handling unit and staff registration. Cooking Crew will be helping to prepare and serve the pre-ordered lunches to participants.
This food will be free to WCA staff. Additionally, the price for this event is heavily reduced for staff! After the event, all staff have the chance to stay and tour the historic USS Hornet!
Check-in for staff will begin at 7:00 AM, January 11, 2025. The program starts at 9:00 AM and is expected to finish at approximately 4:00 PM. At around 12:00 PM there will be a 40-minute lunch period. Please wear closed-toed shoes and warm clothing, and bring a water bottle. Lunch will be provided which includes a hot dog (beef or vegetarian), chips, fruit, and water.
