Order of the Arrow Induction

June 7 - 9, 2024 CANDIDATES ONLY

Congratulations on being elected to become a member of the Order of the Arrow, the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America. We, in the Yerba Buena Lodge serving the Golden Gate Area Council, have scheduled an induction weekend as follows:

This induction weekend will be a special one. It will be Yerba Buena Lodge’s first induction at the historic Camp Wolfeboro nestled in the beautiful Sierra wilderness. Become a part of Camp Wolfeboro’s 95-year history by being among the first in our lodge to be inducted there.  

When & Where:

Camp Wolfeboro. Friday check-in starts at 8:00 PM.

The registration fee is $95.00.

REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 11:59 PM ON Friday, May 31, 2024.

Your registration fee includes OA dues, lodge patch, OA handbook, sash, and food for the weekend. You will receive detailed instructions once registered for the event. In order to participate, you must be registered in the Golden Gate Area Council.

Be prepared:

1. Scouts should be physically prepared to hike 2.5 miles downhill (and about a 900ft. descent) into camp on Saturday morning (and back up Sunday morning). Contact us at inductions@oa-yerbabuena.org if you need any special accommodations.
2. Keep in mind that Cell phone service is very limited and unreliable near camp.  The closest “town” is Arnold with limited late night services. 
3. Access to the drop-off area is on a dirt road with a shallow water crossing.  Because of logistical constraints, we cannot allow candidates to drive down into camp.
4. For those dropping off attendees and not staying the weekend, please note the drop-off parking lot area is small and we cannot accomodate cars parking there for extended periods of time.  Once your Scout is checked in you may leave. If you are an adult candidate driving yourself, more details will be provided as the event nears.
5. All participants must have a current BSA medical form, parts A, B1, and B2 properly completed.

If you are over 18 as of June 9, 2024, you must meet these additional requirements:

1. Have current Youth Protection training through Sunday, June 9, 2024.
2. Be fully compliant with AB 506 which includes mandated state training and a Livescan background check. More information can be found at https://californiascouting.org. Please allow 30 days after your Livescan to complete processing and get the information properly recorded in the council records.
3. All adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered as an adult volunteer or an adult program participant. Adult volunteers must register in the position(s) they are serving in. Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement.
