Wolfeboro Trek 2026
Wolfeboro TREK
*Participation is limited to 10 youth and 2 adults per session. Participants will be selected by lottery as described below. Payment for Wolfeboro TREK will be due after selection and prior to participation in the program.
What is it?
TREK is finally returning to Camp Wolfeboro! Join a cohort of 12 campers in a multi-day high adventure experience. Curated for the camper who is eager for excitement: backpacking, exploration, leadership development, and outdoor survivalist teachings abound.
Who are you?
You are outdoor focused, leadership enthused, and looking for an experience not offered at any of our summer camps! If you’ve already earned every badge at camp, this is the next step in your Scouting career. You will walk away with a deeper appreciation of nature, yourself, and your place in the world.
Who are we?
Your TREK leaders are experienced camp staff members and avid backpackers. With a combined experience of over 15 years of backpacking, your journey will be facilitated in safe and enthusiastic hands.
I'm already attending camp one week....
Any Scout already attending one week of camp is still encouraged to register for the Wolfeboro TREK lottery! If you are registered for a week of camp that overlaps with your TREK experience, your Camper registration fee will be transferred to your TREK program upon selection for the program.
What do you need to pack?
Campers must come prepared with their own materials to backpack a multi-night overnight experience. in addition to a week at camp. A full detailed list is coming soon. It is important to note that participants will need to be able to carry 40-50 lbs on their person for a portion of the trip.
Who can attend?
Registered members of Scouting America, both youth and adults, may participate in TREK. All genders are welcome to participate. We will only take 10 Scouts and 2 Adults per session. Provisional Scouts are highly encouraged to attend. You can also bring a buddy or two, if included in the same registration.
Why now?
This will be our first year running this pilot program! Our hope is to expand this into a full-summer opportunity with sessions running during every week of camp.
What will we do?
The program will start and end at Camp Wolfeboro, located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. We will spend Sunday and Monday preparing for our TREK, and then head off property for a multi-day overnight backpacking experience. A rough outline of merit badge requirements that will be covered is coming soon. All Barriers to Abuse, Youth Protection Protocol, and Guide to Safe Scouting will be followed.
When is it?
We will offer this program for two weeks only. Campers are encouraged to attend this program in addition to their traditional summer camp week. We will run TREK during Weeks 3 and 5 in 2026.
Where is it?
The program will start and end at Camp Wolfeboro. We will go off property early in the week and return to camp on Thursday so that Campers may enjoy time at Camp itself and participate in closing festivities.
What is the value of this program?
This style of activity will be something that your Scout can write about in their college applications. It holds truth to the mission of Scouting to prepare young people to make ethical choices throughout their lives by teaching them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. It is our intention of keeping this program accessible to any who choose to participate, which is why it will match the same price of summer camp. Early bird discount and out of council fees apply. This is a high-adventure program unlike any other offered in GGAC.
