Advancement Day on the Hornet
Welcome back! Hosted by Alameda District volunteers in the Golden Gate Area Council that gives local Scouts, ages 11-17 the opportunity to earn merit badges.
New this year is Parent Tour or Parent Training.
Held in the spring on the USS Hornet is an environment where Scouts have an opportunity to continue their advancement program and earn valuable merit badges that may not be readily available elsewhere. Scouts can earn up to two merit badges in one day, while helping them on their path to earn their Eagle Scout rank and serve our community.
Advancement day is held on a Saturday and formally starts at 8:45am and runs till 4:30pm. For the students, the day is divided into two 3 hour classes with a built-in lunch in the middle of the day. For adults, classes are offered throughout the day.
This event will open to all scouts BSA . NOTE that one adult must register and remain on the ship with each unit that registers.
