Welcome to Maritime Explorer Day Camp!

Incoming 6th through 9th grade campers spend every day exploring the best the San Francisco waterfront has to offer! Each day participants will learn the basics of kayaking, outrigger canoeing, and sailing on our fleet of traditional craft at San Francisco Sea Scouts Base. Campers meet at the Base in Aquatic Park for hands-on boating with a team of Sea Scout leaders and counselors, learning boating skills and safety procedures. They also have games and activities on our lawn, on the beach, and explore the sites like the Maritime Museum. Youth registration is $550 or $475 for Registered Scouts. Space is limited so register today! 

Student-Camper ratio: 5:1 

Sample Daily Schedule

9:00am Day Camp Arrivals. Drop off at Sea Scout Base. Circle time, stretching, pod games.

9:45am Gear Up. Campers grab PFDs, paddles, boats, apply sunscreen. 

10:00am Morning boating. Head out onto the harbor. Younger paddlers stay close to base, older paddlers venture farther.

11-11:30am Return to the base. Gear is stored for mid-day. 

12:00pm Lunch / Land-based Game Time. Campers pack their own lunch.

1:00pm Afternoon boating. Head out onto the Bay (weather permitting). Sometimes we will play games on our paddle platforms.

2-2:30pm Return Base / Free Time. Gear is cleaned, stored for the day. 

3:00pm Pick Up
