Join us for our incredible Beneath the Sea Day Camp!  If your Scout wants to earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award, attending Day Camp is one of the requirements!

Camp is open to all Boys and Girls (Cub Scouts) entering the 1st – 5th Grade. If you are not currently a Scout, you can attend camp by filling out a membership application and paying membership fee of $30.00

Your Scout will discover and learn new things from. Registration open until July 1, 2020 for an amazing fun filled week where Cub Scouts will play and participate in:

  • Valuable Scout Skills and Crafts
  • Earn the Shooting Sports Award for
    • Archery 
    • BB Guns 
  • Science and Culture Experience
  • Swimming 
  • Wood Projects
  • Make New Friends
  • Meet Scouts From Local BSA Troops

TIMES

Campers 

  • Drop Off: 8:15-8:30am
  • Program: 8:30am-3:30pm Mon-Thur and 8:30am-1:30pm Fri
  • Pick Up: 3:30-3:45pm Mon - Thur and 1:30-1:45pm Fri

Volunteers 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday – Friday

Friday Lunch and Campfire Program 

  • Arrive between 12:15-12:30pm
  • Program 12:30-1:30pm
  • Depart with Scouts 1:30-1:45pm
  • Cost $5/ family member (excluding Scout, Jr Helpers, full time Adult Volunteer and full time Tags registered for camp)

LOCATION: Camp Romanoak, 1977 Reliz Valley Road, Lafayette, CA

REGISTRATION FEES/COST

Registration includes all activities and materials, Camp T-shirt, daily snack, lunch on Friday and patch. REMEMBER, if you want to earn the Cub Scout 

Cub Scouts

  • Early Price $175 (before March 15th, 2020)
  • Regular Price $200 (between March 16th and May 15th, 2020)
  • Late Price $255 (after May 15th, 2020)

Non-Registered Cub Scouts must fill out a youth membership form and pay and additional $30.

On Your camp registration, "RANK" is NOT the Current Rank but Rank your Scout WILL BE in September 2020

  • Tiger =  1st Grade,
    • Please note that Tiger’s (Scouts going into 1st grade) must be accompanied full time by their parent/guardian (as a volunteer). This is a BSA regulation, and we can not wave this requirement.
  • Wolf  = 2nd Grade,
  • Bear =  3rd,Grade
  • Webelos =  4th Grade
  • Arrow of Light (AOL) = 5th Grade

Adult Volunteers

  • Day Camp is 100% volunteer run. Adult  and Jr. Helper volunteers are needed to make this a great camp for all!
  • Adults may help as
    • Den Leaders (Escort and help Cub Scouts at various stations)  
    • Station Leaders (Teach Cubs how to complete projects and/or perform activities)
  • Volunteers will receive a refund of $100 against your Cub Scout registration fee for camp, You will receive a credit on your bank card or check about 6-8 weeks after camp closes. 
  • Adult Volunteer Requirements. Being an Adult Volunteer is a fun and rewarding experience. But there are some requirements to ensure the safety of all Day Camp Participants:
    • BSA Registered- To be an adult volunteer you must be BSA registered.  If you’re leader with your Pack or Troop you most likely are already registered.  If you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle of a Cub Scout and are not involved with the Pack or Troop,  you need to fill out an application. If you filled out an application to volunteer at camp last year you need to do it again this year per BSA guidelines. Down load the BSA Adult Member Application on the right side of the screen under attachments.
    • Current Youth Protection Training (YPT) Certification for all Adults. You’ll need to send a copy of your certificate with your registration.  Don’t worry if you have one, training is online. Link is on the right side of the screen under attachments.
      • Directions once you click on the link: Create An Account. Click on Menu in the upper left.  Then click on My Dashboard.  Your training should now be on the screen.  Click on Youth Protection Training Certification  and Take The Course. Follow instructions on course page to take course and print certification.  Please note this class takes about an hour.
    • Orientation– To help make this a safe, fun and memorable event for the Cubs, all volunteers must attend at least one orientation/Training  meeting, dates and times to be announced.
    • Read and sign the acknowledgement of Den Leaders Guide. Link to the guide is on the right side of the screen under attachments.
  •  Forms
    • Medical A and B Form. - Link to the form is on the right side of the screen under attachments.
    • Jr. Helper Shooting Sports Permission Form, Link to the form is on the right side of the screen under attachments. All Adults must submit this form for our camp to be compliant with BSA rules.
    • Forms due by April 1,2020.  If you volunteered after April 1, 2020, forms must be submitted within two weeks of registration.

Jr. Helper Volunteer Requirements

  • For Jr. Helpers 6th-12th grade you must be a registered BSA youth.  If you’re registered as a Boy Scout, Sea Scout, Venture Scout or Explorer Scout you will not need to fill out a youth application.  All  other youth must fill out a Youth Application.  Link to the form is on the right side of the screen under attachments.
  • Training Session– To help make this a safe, fun and memorable event for the Cubs, all volunteers must attend at least one Training  meeting, dates and times to be announced.

Tag Program (For Volunteer kids under 1st Grade)

  • Siblings of our registered Cub Scouts are called Tag-a-longs or “Tags”. Tags may only attend camp if parent is volunteering that day.

Ways to turn in forms/document options

  • Mail completed forms:  Kathy Reichert, Registrar, 1246 Center Ave, Martinez, CA 94553
  • Drop off at 1246 Center Ave, Martinez into Locked Mail Box labeled Scouts/Day Camp mounted on the wall next to the front door. 
  • Drop-off at a Muir-Briones Day Camp Meeting or Training Meeting

Do not mail or drop forms off at the council office. BSA policy does not allow medical forms to be email.
