Leave No Trace for Outdoor Ethics Trainer's Course

Overnight (Friday & Saturday)
Description of Course: This is a three-day course (16 hours of instruction) beginning Friday evening (7:00 PM) and ends noon on Sunday. Participants receive introductory training in Leave No Trace skills and ethics during this weekend course. Students learn about the seven principles of Leave No Trace and techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. All participants will leave the weekend with the skills, tools, and resources needed to conduct their own exciting Leave No Trace awareness workshop and a BSA Leave No Trace 101 awareness course. Each participant will demonstrate their teaching skills in a 10-15 minute presentation of a Leave No Trace topic as assigned by the trainers. Who: Adult and youths age 16 and up who value the land and want to teach others how to protect and preserve it.
Location: The course will utilize the facilities at Bowen Lodge for indoor activities and instruction. There will be outdoor instruction and two nights of camping in the short term camping area by Bowen Lodge. Participants should be prepared for these outdoor activities. Specific details will be provided at a later date.
