CAMPOREE COMPETITIONS
CAMP GADGET – Put those pioneering skills to good use and make a gadget, using knots & lashings, you actually use during the camporee! Bring your own materials and have it ready to be judged during campsite inspections.
2-MAN CROSSCUT SAW – Two-person teams from patrols will compete to see who can SAFELY cut through a log in the fastest time.
TOMAHAWK THROWING – Patrol teams will be judged on accuracy and SAFETY.
PRIMITIVE FIRE BUILDING – Patrols will be given a task to complete including SAFELY building a fire using primitive methods.
LOG-PULL – Patrol members must tie a timber hitch around a log, pull the log a predetermined distance, and finish the competition by tying a bowline around a tree on the other end. Best time, teamwork, and spirit wins!
DUTCH OVEN COMPETITION – Cook up your best dessert to be judged by some of the best Dutch-oven chefs in Scouting! Just remember, your entry must be turned in between 6-6:30pm in the Dining Hall. One entry per patrol---Scout & Scouter divisions.
PLEASE NOTE: Campsite inspections will be done on Saturday morning between breakfast and lunch. Please plan accordingly and DO YOUR BEST to model a neat, clean, and functional Scout campsite.
