COURSE:   IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills) / BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation)

 

Description: This outdoor program is designed to provide basic outdoor skills essential to the Boy Scout program. This course is required training for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Venturing Advisors who wish to be considered a trained leader. It is recommended for Webelos leaders and other Leaders who will be camping with youth. This is required for Cub Scout leaders planning and executing a Pack overnighter. This class is based on the Patrol Method and gives participants an introduction into what it is like to be a new Scout in a new Patrol. You will be camping and need to bring the necessary gear.  Come prepared for any kind of weather and eat dinner before you arrive on Friday. A “Cracker Barrel” with snacks provided late Friday night. 

 

Date:     Friday, April 5, 2019- Saturday, April 6, 2019

Place:   Murray Park – Pavilions 1 & 2 in Little Rock, AR near Big Dam Bridge/lock.

Time:    Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.  Training begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and ends

            Saturday about 4:00pm.

Cost:     $25.00 (Includes all materials, snacks, and meals.)

Prerequisite: Cub Scout Leaders please login to www.my.scouting.org and take the BALOO training module. Print the completion certificate and bring it to training. This is required for completion of the course.
