Event Details

BALOO

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

“This one-and-a-half day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands-on practical. BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience. Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Pack overnighter, but 2 are recommended just in case your trained leader can’t go on the outing.”

BALOO is encouraged for any leader interested in working
with large groups from Den outings to Pack outings
whether just for ½ day, full day or overnight.

Participants who complete this training course will:

Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA outdoor program.
Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a
successful Cub Scout-level overnight activity or day outing.
Learn more about the resources from the BSA for carrying out this activity.
