Duty to God Hike 2024

You are invited to join us for the 29th Annual Duty to God Hike! This urban hike will be about five miles long and explores the diversity of religions in our community.  We will be walking through the Phoenix Biltmore area and stopping at houses of worship to hear presentations about the Ten Commandments and learn about their faith traditions and worship space.  Each presentation concludes with a few questions and answers pertaining to the stop.

This year we will also spend time at Granada Park, near the foothills of Piestewa Peak. Activities at the Park will feature a TREASURE HUNT of sorts when Scouts will explore the park on a quest to learn more about some of the varied faith traditions.

In addition, there will be a display and information about the religious emblems from many faith backgrounds that are available for scouts (and adults) to earn.

Who: Scouts, families, and friends are welcome to join us!  This event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about our duty to God and spend a beautiful day enjoying the outdoors and fellowship with others.

The cost is $10 per person and includes a hike patch, water, soda and dessert.  Families should bring their own “sack” lunches.  

Please note--there are no fast-food restaurants or stores along the hike route. We walk to the houses of worship as a group and one stop will include our lunch stop.
