BSA Climbing Instructor Level 1 Training

 

Who should attend?

This training is for leaders, committee members, parents, and youth over 16 years old wanting to initiate or renew the BSA Climbing Level 1 certification.

 

When:

January 22 - Zoom call from 7-9 PM. Zoom links will be emailed to all registered participants. 

January 24 - Friday night classroom instruction. 7-9 PM at the Heard Scout Pueblo.

January 25- Saturday Climbing Instruction. 8 AM through 5 PM at the Heard Scout Pueblo

March 22 - Saturday Climbing Event. 8 AM through 5 PM at the Heard Scout Pueblo

(All dates are required in order to be certified)

 

Cost:

$65 for each participant. All the needed gear and training materials are included. 

 

Additional Information:

To receive an instructor certification card, you must participate in all sessions, demonstrate climbing activity training & supervision and pass a practical skills assessment.

If you would like to camp at the Heard Scout Pueblo, please reserve your campsite here

Bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen. Wear comfortable, sturdy, supportive shoes. Climbing shoes are not required, but you're welcome to bring them. All climbing gear will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own harness, gloves, and helmet. All personal gear will be inspected by the instructors. Please do not bring your own rope.

Bring your own lunch for Saturday sessions.
