NRA Basic Rifle & Certified Rifle Instructor Course

Intended for BSA Registered Leaders conducting Rifle Merit Badge and other BSA Rifle activities.
National BSA policy states that all firearms instruction and shooting activities shall be conducted under the supervision of an NRA instructor.

You should have experience and be comfortable with Rifle shooting.

Instructor candidates must be at least 21, and should have experience in Rifle shooting.
Assistant Instructors must be at least 18, and should have experience in Rifle shooting.
Apprentice Instructors must be at least 13, and should have experience in Rifle shooting.
Pre-Requisites to attend the Instructor class include successfully completing the Basic Rifle course and passing a pre-qual test(all included).

There is an additional fee paid directly to NRA for Instructor credentialing. If you are an NRA member it is $35, non-member $60, both good fortwo years. Members that already are instructors pay $15 to get the Rifle rating added
