Troop 194 Climbing Event

If Scouts are intending to complete the Merit Badge, please sign up for the Merit Badge option. 

What to bring:

• Signed Annual Health and Medical Record A & B
• Bring a refillable water bottle.
• Scouts must wear closed-toe shoes. Loose-fitting clothing might get in the way of the ropes and gear. Long hair will need to be pulled back and held out of the way.
• Participants should wear pants.
• Scouts should be prepared to be outside and in the sun all day. Sunscreen and/or long-sleeve shirts are recommended. Scouts will wear helmets in the climbing area, so hats won't be very helpful.
• Scouts must bring their own lunch. Lunch is NOT provided. Water will be available to refill water bottles.
• Do NOT bring any climbing or rappelling gear from home. All gear needed will be provided on-site.

Other Info:

• There are no age restrictions for this merit badge, any Scout (ages 10-17) may participate.
• The entire merit badge can be completed during this clinic.

A note about fear and heights:

The climbing and rappelling stations at this clinic are considered "beginner level" areas.

The climbing merit badge does not have a height requirement. Any attempt to climb, regardless of the height reached, will satisfy the requirement. Scouts will be encouraged to do their best, but no Scout will be pushed to go beyond their comfort level.
