NRA Basic Shotgun & Certified Shotgun Instructor Course

Intended for BSA Registered Leaders conducting Shotgun Merit Badge and other BSA Shotgun activities.
National BSA policy states that all firearms instruction and shooting activities shall be conducted under the supervision of a NRA instructor.

Instructor candidates must be at least 21, and should have experience in shotgun shooting.
Assistant Instructors must be at least 18, and should have experience in shotgun shooting.
Apprentice Instructors must be at least 13, and should have experience in shotgun shooting.
 

Pre-Requisites to attend the Instructor class include successfully completing the Basic Shotgun course and passing a pre-qual test.

Fees - Here’s how it breaks down: $220 for the complete course. **$180 if you do not require B.I.T.
B.I.T. (Basic Instructor training) - Saturday, February 12, 2022 - 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Basic Shotgun Course - Saturday , February 19, 2022 - 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Shotgun Instructor Course - Sunday, February 20, 2022 - 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
** If you are currently an active NRA Instructor in another discipline, and have taken B.I.T. within the last two years (at class time), technically it is not required to re-take B.I.T.
Note: The Full Session Must Be Attended!
You MUST pass written and practical tests to receive Certification.
There is an additional fee paid directly to NRA for Instructor credentialing. If you are an NRA member it is $30, non-member $50, both good for two years. Members that already areinstructors pay $10 to get the Shotgun rating added.
