IOLS/BALOO Training

Hosted by Gila River District

When: April 1-2, 2022

Where: Heard Scout Pueblo

Who: Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Cub Leaders

Cost: $45 Adults

This is a one-time required training only available in person.  Any Cub or Scout leader wishing to learn the necessary skills along with training tips and tricks for the Scout Ranks, Boy Scout through First Class.  This is also very useful for Webelos Leaders as many of these skills are taught at the Webelos Level.  BALOO requires an additional 3 hours of training on Sunday so it will be a bit longer.  This training will give you the knowledge and skill to run family Camp overnights and is required for such activities.  It is also useful for any activities for Packs and Dens.  The Skills training can be used for activities for family camp.  Every pack should have at least 2 BALOO-trained Leaders.

All Leaders will get IOLS Certified which is good for life.  Cub leaders will get both IOLS and BALOO.

There are online prerequisites for BALOO.  All participants should complete the online Scout Leader Training.  All of this is available on MyScouting.org.
