9-Day Trek 
 

Philmont Scout Ranch

Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America's premier high-adventure base, challenges Scouts and Venturers in the rugged outdoors. Participants will enjoy exploring the more than 200 square miles of rugged New Mexico wilderness, which includes a variety of activities over a 9-day trek at Philmont. The Philmont Contingent Committee reserves the right to not accept a registration if the candidate is not fit physically or emotionally for the trip.

WHO

Individual or group registrations will be accepted.  Must be a currently registered Scout BSA, Venturer, or Sea Scout.

Minimum age: Philmont requires that all youth must be 14 years of age OR 13 years of age AND have completed the 8th grade and younger than 18 by arrival to Philmont. NO EXCEPTIONS. Philmont has maximum height/weight ratio requirements to insure that participants are physically capable of the expedition.  You can find information on these requirements here.  Participants must know and use the Scout Oath and Law as their guide to appropriate behavior.

WHEN
June 13 - June 23, 2021

 
FEE
The total fee for contingent participants will be $1,450.  The fee includes all Philmont Scout Ranch fees, travel arrangements,  meals in route, crew gear. etc.   Spots are limited to first-come, first-serve.  A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot.
 

Participants will receive additional information throughout 2020,  and early 2021 related to travel arrangements, program opportunities, and trip preparations.  The Grand Canyon Council reserves the right to add qualified participants to all crews up to the maximum.
