2021 National Scout Jamboree - Face the Challenge

July 21-30, 2021

This registration site will be used to determine interest in 2 different options to attend the 2021 National Scout Jamboree so we can build Troops that will be representing Grand Canyon Council.

Please choose Long Trip Option Tour + Jamboree or Short Trip Jamboree Only Option for each participant. Scouts must be age 12 by July 20,  2021.

Adults interested in a leadership position, please fill out the attached application and submit to Council.

Deposit of $300 per participant due by April 30, 2020.  Deposit is non-refundable after April 30, 2020.

July 13, 2021                 Phoenix to New York City

Depart Phoenix on night flights to a New York City area airport.

July 14, 2021                 New York City (BLD)

Upon arrival you will have breakfast at the airport then depart for New York City.  Here you will meet a local guide for a tour of the city.  Highlights include the One World Observatory at One World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Central Park, Wall Street, and much more.  Overnight in Northern New Jersey.  Breakfast Lunch and Dinner are included.

July 15, 2021                 New York City to Philadelphia (BLD)

Travel to Liberty State Park in New Jersey where you will board the ferry to the Statue of Liberty (reserved time to climb to the crown cannot be made for groups) and Ellis Island.  Catch the ferry to Liberty State Park then on to Philadelphia where you will meet a local step on guide for a tour.  Timed entry will be made to visit Independence Hall.  You will also see the Liberty Bell and the Betsy Ross home.  (Reservations cannot be made to visit the Mint.  This is offered on a first come first served basis only.)  Overnight in Philadelphia. for the night. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included.

July 16, 2021                 Philadelphia to Gettysburg (BLD)

Breakfast will be at your hotel before departing to Valley Forge then travel to Lancaster to enjoy a feast at the Plain and Fancy Farm.  Travel to Gettysburg and view the Cyclorama and have guided tour of the Battlefields and other sites in the area.  Overnight in Gettysburg.  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included.

July 17, 2021                 Lancaster to Washington DC (BLD)

Breakfast will be at your hotels before you depart Gettysburg.  Visit Fort McHenry and on to Washington DC.  The afternoon is free to visit the Smithsonian Museums.  Overnight in the Washington DC area.  Dinner this evening will be at a group restaurant.   Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included. (Overnight in Tyson’s Corner, Breakfast included 3 days)

July 18, 2021                 Washington DC (BLD)

After breakfast at your hotel to Washington DC where reserved times may be made for the Holocaust Museum, US Capitol, National Archives.  Other highlights today will include Fords Theater and seeing the many monuments and memorials around the Capitol Mall.  (Group visits to the Capitol cannot be made until 3 months prior to your visit.)  Dinner will be at a group restaurant this evening before returning to your hotel for the night.  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included.

July 19, 2021                 Washington DC (BLD)

After breakfast at your hotel today is free to explore the Smithsonian Museums.  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included.

July 20, 2021                 Washington DC to Lexington VA (BLD)

Have breakfast at your hotel then depart to Mount Vernon before continuing to Charlottesville to visit Monticello.  Continue to Lexington VA for the night.  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included

July 21, 2021                 Lexington VA to Jamboree (B)

After breakfast at your hotel you will depart for the National Jamboree.  Breakfast is included.

July 30, 2021                 Jamboree to Doswell (LD)

Around 7:00 am you will depart the Jamboree and travel to Doswell VA where you will spend the balance of the day at Kings Dominion.
