Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS)
This training event is an overnight campout that satisfies all the requirements for the full course of the required Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS).
You will receive the "Trained" patch at the end of this course.
Description: Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required for them to earn the First Class rank.
Dates:
April 12-13, 2019 (Friday Evening 6:30pm through Saturday Evening 8:00pm)
Must Attend Both Days - Overnight Camping is Required
Cost: $35
This training is for Adult Scout leaders:
- Scoutmasters
- Assistant Scoutmasters
- Anyone interested in working with Scouts in a Troop.
- Scout Committee members are welcome to attend as well.
Items to bring:
- Boy Scout uniform (wear your Field/Class-A uniform the entire time)
- Dinner for Friday evening (or eat before you arrive)
- Personal camping gear, including tent
- Camping chair
- Warm jacket and a hat
- Drinking water
- Notepad and pen for taking notes
Friday Evening Snack, Saturday Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided. Water will be available.
There are bathrooms available. Please let us know if you have any specific needs, such as access to an outlet for a CPAP machine at night, or any dietary restrictions for the meals we provide.
