Prerequisites: At minimum complete as many of the requirements beginning with #1 through #4 Cooking at Home. 

Review the merit badge workbook PDF and bring a copy of the merit badge worksheet PDF completed. 

Merit Badge Completion: Most likely this class will result in a partial. However, it is possible to get a completion if the scout has completed in advance all three of the cooking requirements listed in the merit badge book: #4c and 4d; #5d and 5e; and 6d, and has completed a worksheet for all other requirements #1 through #7.

Fee: $0 However, the Scout is required to bring "ALL" food needed to complete the cooking required for requirement #5d and #5e. In addition, the Scout is required to bring "ALL" cooking utensils, (example: spoons, spatula's, pans, tin foil, etc) to mix, cook, serve and eat the three meals and one dessert or snack. 

Additional Information: The Cooking Merit Badge class will be dedicated 100% to requirement #5 Camp Cooking; specifically 5d and 5e: "Using your menu plans for this requirement, cook two of the five meals you planned using either a lightweight stove or a low-impact fire. Use a different cooking method from requirement 3 for each meal. You must also cook a third meal using either a Dutch oven OR a foil pack OR kabobs; prepare a dessert OR a snack and serve all of these meals to your patrol or a group of youth" (Prepare enough for yourself and one other person).

Four two burner, propane cook stoves, fire wood, charcoal and 5 Dutch Ovens will furnished. The Cooking merit badge class and all cooking will be outside in the back of the Goldsmith Center. There is a concrete cooking surface available for using the propane stoves and cooking troughs for Dutch Oven cooking and there is an open fire pit available for those wishing to use fire wood as a heat source.
