Boy Scout Leader Training: Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills
This is the Outdoor portion of Position-Specific Training
You will receive the "Trained" patch at the end of this Outdoor course (if you've completed the prerequisite Indoor Position Specific Training).
Description: Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required for them to earn the First Class rank.
Prior to this training event you should complete the Indoor portion of your Position-Specific Training, as well as the required training provided online (myscouting.scouting.org), such as:
- Youth Protection Training
- Fast Start Orientation Training
- This Is Scouting

Check-In & Campsite Setup between 5:00 - 6:30 PM on Friday.
Walk-ins are welcome. The cost is $20 at the door. Receipts available upon request.
Items to bring:
- Boy Scout uniform (wear your Field/Class-A uniform the entire time)
- Dinner for Friday evening (or eat before you arrive)
- Personal camping gear, including tent
- Camping chair
- Warm clothing
- Drinking water
- Boy Scout Handbook
- Scout Master Handbook
- Notepad and Pen or Pencil
Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday. There are bathrooms available at the campsite.
