Fishing and Fly-Fishing Merit Badge Workshop

Come earn your Fishing and Fly Fishing merit badges with the Sun City Grand Fishing Club and the Zane Grey Chapter of Trout Unlimited!

What to bring (Required): Hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, water, merit badge pamphlets, blue card*, Field scout uniform, or Scout unit t-shirt (Activity)

*Blue cards are to be filled out with the following information before arriving at the workshop:

•  Badge requirements
• Scout’s personal information
• Signed by Scoutmaster’s or authorized troop leader

Prerequisites:

• First Class and age 13
• Read, review and be familiar with the Fishing (FMB) and Fly-fishing (FFMB) (merit badge pamphlets)

Demonstrate competence in the following required knots:

• Arbor knot (FFMB & FMB)
• Nail knot (FFMB)
• Blood knot (FFMB)
• Loop to loop connection
• Improved clinch knot (FFMB & FMB)
• Palomar knot (FMB)
• Uni knot & uni knot to uni knot connection (FMB)

Unit leaders must stay with their scouts.

Fee: $15 per scout

Lunch is provided.
